Handbook :: Swimmer’s Responsibilities

Swimmer’s Responsibilities and Behavior:
To achieve success as a competitive swimmer, members of the BBA Swim Team are expected to:
- Attend practice on a regular basis, as often as your schedule allows.
- Be on time for practice with appropriate clothing (swim suit or dry land training clothes) and equipment (goggles, pull buoy, paddles, kickboard)
- Swimmers are permitted in the pool area only when a member of the coaching staff is present.
- Listen to coach’s instructions.
- Maintain a positive swimming attitude! Be proud to be a member of BBA, knowing that you are receiving the best possible coaching.
- Show respect for the facilities and property, but turning off the showers, and putting the equipment away neatly.
- At swim meets and practices, act in a manner that reflects the proud tradition of BBA Swim Club. Show respect for all swimmers, parent, coaches and officials.
- Arrive at meets on time for warm-up, wearing Atlantis merchandise.
- Attend Team Meets. Each swimmer should attend at least two meets per session. Sit together as a team and cheer for fellow teammates. Show ATLANTIS spirit.
- Swimmers may leave practice only with the coaches’ permission. Swimmers are requested to leave messages on the BBA HOTLINE if a prolonged illness or the like prevents attendance at practice.
- Maintain a strong academic standing.
- Keep a record of all your times. Twelve and under swimmers may have their parents help them.
