Handbook :: Financial Responsibilities

Financial Responsibilities of BBA:
Birmingham-Bloomfield Atlantis is a non-profit organization. Our budget exceeds $150,000. General costs for the Club include pool rental, insurance, coaches’ salaries and related taxes, and miscellaneous costs. Swimming sessions fees do not cover the entire cost of running a quality club.
BBA’s fundraisers are extremely important because they earn additional operating money which help keep session fees reasonable. This year’s fundraising activities include USA Swimming Swim-A-Thon, Kroger Cares Program, and Little Caesars Pizza kits. All outstanding balances must be paid in full in order to register for a new session. There is no pro-rating of fees.
- Swim Session Fees - These are due before each session (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer) begins and are set by the Board of Directors. Any swimmer who has not paid the fees before a session begins will not be allowed in the water to participate in practice sessions. Session fees are only refundable during the first two weeks of practice. Please refer to Refund Policy.
- Registration Fee - This is a non-refundable fee. This helps to pay for printing costs, mailing, trophies, and United States Swimming registration for BBA.
- USA Swimming Fees - This non-refundable fee is paid once per year per swimmer to pay for insurance for the swimmer during BBA practices and swim meets.
